Collection of Records concerning the Tripitaka, A 出三蔵記集; (Chin Ch’u-san-tsang-chi-chi; Jpn Shutsu-sanzo-kishu )
The oldest extant catalog of Chinese translations of the Buddhist canon, compiled by Seng-yu (445-518).
It lists Chinese translations of sutras, texts of the rules of monastic discipline, Buddhist commentaries, and other works produced during the period from the Later Han dynasty (25-220) to the Liang dynasty (502-557).
This work also includes prefaces to the translations as well as the biographies of thirty-two translators.
This collection is one of the most important reference works in the study of Chinese Buddhism and the history of the Chinese translation of Buddhist scriptures.
Since it was compiled on the basis of Tao-an's Comprehensive Catalog of Sutras, which is no longer extant, it also sheds light on the contents of Tao-an's work.
