Palgyi Senge of Lang (rlangs dpal gyi seng ge). His father was Amey Jangchub Drekhol, a mantrika powerful enough to employ the eight classes of gods and demons as his servants. Palgyi Senge of Lang was one of the eight chief disciples of Padmasambhava when the empowerment of the Assemblage of Sugatas was conferred. He attained both the common and supreme accomplishments at Paro Taktsang through the practice of the Tamer of All Haughty Spirits. The Dzogchen Rinpoches are regarded as his reincarnations. Palgyi Senge means 'Glorious Lion.'

Palgyi Senge of Lang. Among the 108 sent to India, he became very close to Guru Rinpoche. Born to a bodhisattva, at age 8, he traveled through the mountains and visited Oddiyana at the invitaion of Gesar of Ling. By means of sincere and diligent practice, he was able to liberate beings in the lower realms. A ngakpa with two wives and three sons, his teachings spread through his clan lineage. He spent many years giving teachings and meditating in the mountains of Bhutan.
