This group is for all those interested in any aspect of Buddhism, present and past members of the UTS Buddhist Society, and is also open to all friends and well-wishers of the UTS Buddhist Society.
WHO ARE WE?
The University of Technology, Sydney Buddhist Society has provided UTS’ diverse students and staff with an opportunity to learn about Buddhist philosophy and teachings since its founding in the 1980’s.
KEY ACTIVITIES
UTS Buddhist Society’s various activities include: weekly meditation and group discussion on a variety of topics exploring aspects spirituality through Buddhist culture, intervarsity social events, and meditation retreats.
MEMBER OF MITRA
UTS Buddhist Society is also a proud member of the MITRA Youth Buddhist Network which is a network of youth Buddhist societies with connections to many youth Buddhist groups and the greater Buddhist community. Their members currently include MacBuddhi (Macquarie University), Unibodhi (Sydney University) and UTS Buddhist Society, with their network extending to youth Buddhist organisations all around Australia.
OUR MISSION
We aim to bring together people from different faiths and background who are interested in any aspect of Buddhism - whether it be the path to happiness, philosophy, meditation, practical methods of solving daily problems etc. We wish to develop a community of healthy, compassionate, wise, and spiritually rich university students.
