2. Insuring the community’s comfort

3. Warding off ill-meaning people

4. Helping well behaved monks and nuns

5. Destroying present defilements

6. Preventing future defilements

7. Benefiting non-followers

8. Increasing the number of followers

9. Establishing the Discipline

10. Observing the rules of restraint
