Cave of the Seven Leaves
[七葉窟] (Skt Saptaparna-guha; Jpn Shichiyoᆳkutsu)

The site where the First Buddhist Council for the compilation of Shakyamuni Buddha's teachings was held shortly after his death with the support of Ajatashatru, the king of Magadha in India. According to Buddhist tradition, it was located halfway down a hill near Rajagriha in Magadha. Some accounts identify the Cave of the Seven Leaves as Pip-pali Cave.
