Chant Before a Meal

Each drop of water reflects the benevolence of the universe
and each morsel reflects the efforts of countless people.
We take this offering not out of greed but as medicine to
overcome the three posions of avarice, anger and folly,
and to achieve a healthy body and a spotless mind.
May all those suffering be released
through meditative absorption
and find joy in the Dharma.
I take refuge in Sakyamuni Buddha.
