Guru Rinpoche Tsok Day

From Tibetan Buddhist Encyclopedia
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Guru Rinpoche Tsok Day (for the Root Guru Padmasambhava) is the 10th day of each month of the Tibetan calendar.

The practice of the Guru Rinpoche Day Tsok came about from Guru Rinpoche’s promise to his Sangha that whatever is offered to him on his special day, the merit will be multiplied. With this good intention, it is a good time to generate all the prosperity and good karmas to others as well as a good way of accumulating good merits. Therefore, the benefits of practicing on Guru Rinpoche Tsok Day are truly magnificent.

Rigdzin Dupa (A Practice on The Inner Aspect of Guru Rinpoche)

“‘The Gathering of Awareness Holders’, is a very powerful practice for dispelling obstacles and is one of the three root sadhanas in the Longchen Nyingthig tradition.” — Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche.

This practice includes a tsok or feast offering, so please bring an opened food offering, flowers and/or other offering.
