The “Ha Gan Gamantra was transmitted from Padmasambhava’s terma a few years back by His Eminence Gyaltsab Rinpoche. For those that don’t know, Gyaltsab Rinpoche was recognized by His Holiness the Sixteenth Karmapa before he was born.

The distinguished H.E. 12th Gyaltsab Rinpoche compassionately gave the oral transmission of this very special mantra around 2010. It is a very precious mantra which liberates all through hearing it. H.E. Gyaltsab Rinpoche wishes that this precious mantra to be extensively disseminated. The beginning of the film started with Gyaltsab Rinpoche compassionately reciting the mantra. Rinpoche disclosed that those who once hear Rinpoche reciting the mantra means they have received Rinpoches oral transmission.

“The Buddha had the insight to recognize that in essence all beings have the same potential to become equally realized, and to become fully awakened Buddhas. The Buddha saw that the potential of sentient beings is like a treasure hidden from sight.” — H.E. Gyaltsab Rinpoche

The film was shot in March of 2010 at Rinpoche’s residence, Palchen Choeling Monastery, Sikkim. The filming location was on the hillside and open space by the retreat center of Palchen Choeling Monastery. The snow-capped mountain in the background is known as Vajrakilaya sacred mountain.

The pure and crystal-clear sounds every so often is mixed with crisp birds chirping which were the most natural and harmonious accompaniment to this sacred mantra.

Long mantra:

AH AH SHA SA MA HA MA BEN DHARMA RA RA HA GAN GA AH SHA LA SA DEN DHARMA DA LI GA HA NA AH LA DA HA MA SA SHA GI YO

Short version:

A AH SHA SA MA HA
