horse-headed demons
馬頭 (Skt ashvashirsha; Jpn mezu )
Also, horse-headed beings. Jailors of hell who have the body of a human and the head of a horse, they stand guard with similar ox-headed demons. The Sanskrit word ashva means horse, and shirsha means head.
