Heart Essence of the Dakinis-Khandro Thugthig


The Outer Aspect of Yeshe Tsogyal


According to the Profound Path of the Heart Essence of the Dakini (zam lam mkha' 'gro'i thugs thig, a mind terma discovered by Dudjom Rinpoche (bdud 'joms 'jigs bral ye shes rdo rje, 1904-89), should be also be kept secret.


The Khandro Thugthig is one of the four major cycles in the Dudjom Tersar of Kyabje Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, which are all gongter (gong gter):


1. The Tsokyi Thugthig cycle, for the practices on the outer, inner, secret and innermost secret sadhanas of the Lama;

2. The Pudri Rekpung cycle, for the practices of the Yidam;

3. The Khandro Thugthig cycle, for the practices on the outer, inner, secret and innermost secret sadhanas of the Khandro; and

4. The Dorje Drollod cycle.


The Khandro Thukthik is a dakini practice focused on Yeshe Tsogyal.

The outer form of the dakini is Yeshe Tsogyal, the inner form is Kurukulle, the secret form is Senge Dongma and the innermost form is Tröma Nakmo.

According to Lama Dechen Wangmo : "Concerned only with the mandalas of the enlightened feminine, these instructions and trainings span the three internal tantra-yogas of mahayoga, anuyoga, and atiyoga".
