Lemön Tendrel ~ A Gathering Song

The Blessed Vajra Speech of Vidyādhara Jikmé Lingpa

by Jikmé Lingpa

lemön tendrel paksam jön shing gi teng du

On the wishfulfilling tree of karma linked with good wishes,

gyakar shar kyi maja zhönu yang pep jung

the youthful peacock of East India has arrived.

majé duk kor dampé chö chok la gyur dang

Turn your tail parasol to face the sacred teachings

zhönpa ngatsö tarpé lam na zhik zin yong

so we youngsters can also step onto the path of freedom.

sönam chi kyi gyalmö shing ta la pepé

In the Queen of Spring’s chariot of merit,

lho mön shingtsal gyi kuyug gyi sung nyen

the melodious voice of the cuckoo bird from the jungle of South Bhutan has arrived.

yaki drizé bumö lingbu lé nyenpa

With a song sweeter than the flute of celestial maidens,

yar sum namda sowé tendrel la yak jung

we receive the auspicious omen of a joyful summer season.

dir lemön tünpé dorjé yi pündrok

Vajra brothers and companions, assembled here with harmonious karma and wishes,

ngatsö lama zhukpé chöra la pep dang

our teacher is present and has arrived at the gathering of Dharma.

mindröl dütsi tungwé gatön gyi ngang

During this feast of drinking the nectar of ripening and liberation,

nyamga luru lenpé kyechö shig yö to

I have the special task of singing a joyful song.

dechen pogyur mepé zhuk dral gyi ü né

Amidst this gathering of unchanging great bliss,

lha dang lamé zhal ré ma gom kyang jal jung

we behold the countenance of the yidam and guru even without meditation.

ma dang khandrö nying tik ösal gyi tekpé

So let us request the siddhi of attaining the rainbow body of dharmakāya,

jalü chökur drupé ngödrup chig zhuo

through the vehicle of luminous clarity, the heart of the essence of the mother ḍākinīs.
