Naga Offering Days for the Water Dragon Year 2139 (2012-2013) according to the astrology of the Kalachakra which is based on the Yajurved.

The Naga Offering days for the Water Dragon year were calculated from Saraswati Bhawan's website and transposed to the western calendar using Rigpa Tibetan Calendar.

For detailed information and excellent commentary by Acharya Lama Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche please refer to the "Di-Khor Be-kar" Naga Days section in Saraswati Bhawan's webstite: www.saraswatibhawan.org/sbpubsdharma.html.

Nagas are water elemental beings that play a prominent role in all Buddhist schools and are venerated throughout Asia. Making offerings to the Nagas on the astrological days that are associated with their activity, can play an important role in establishing harmony and balance in the environment, as well as cure many kinds of diseases. Practitioners who regularly make offerings to the Nagas and turn them into their allies are often benefitted by ensuring one's prosperity. Many Buddhist Dharma protectors are Nagas and play an important role in the establishment and continuity of the Dharma.

The calendar below is primarily for use by practitioners who have had instruction in making Naga Offering by a qualified Lama. Teachings on making Naga offerings can be purchased online through Saraswati Bhawan (www.saraswatibhawan.org/sbnaga.html).

The Nagas are awake on certain days that are determined by calculations on the Tibetan calendar. These are the days (called "teb") on which Naga ceremonies are performed. There are 4 degrees (*) of "Naga Days." Only make Naga offerings on Naga days. The ceremonies can be performed on any of the Naga days but it's most important to do them on the 4 degree "tep" days. Also, it's important not to "wake up" the Nagas on the other days, when they're asleep.
