Pravrajya initial ordaining into the Buddhist monastic order.

After renouncing the world, the shramana or novice puts on yellow robes and utters Trisharana, ie I am taking refuge in the Buddha, the doctrine (Dhamma) and the Sangha.

He leads a holy life and studies the Buddhist scriptures and the ten moral precepts of Buddhism.

At the age of twenty he may get final ordination and become a full-fledged bhiksu or monk.
