Many habits and attitudes are closely intertwined with religion, making the exploration thereof a perfect way in which to better understand phenomena such as secularisation, globalisation, integration processes and art. At the UvA, the current religious diversity of Europe takes centre stage. Unique to the Netherlands is the specialisation in Western esotericism.
