Ch'ing-lung-ssu
青竜寺 (PY Qinglongsi; Jpn Seiryu-ji)
A temple in Ch'ang-an, China. It was built by Emperor Wen of the Sui dynasty (581-618) and was originally named Ling-kan-ssu. In 711, the name was changed to Ch'ing-lung-ssu. Kobo, the founder of the Japanese True Word (Shingon) school, studied Esoteric Buddhism under Hui-kuo at this temple. In the middle of the ninth century Jikaku and Chishoof the Japanese Tendai school also studied Esoteric Buddhism respectively under I-chen and Fa-ch'yan at the same temple.
