Suryaprabha Bodhisattva, or Nikkō Bosatsu in Japanese, (Japanese: 日光菩薩, Chinese: Ri Guang Pu Sa) is a bodhisattva whose specialty is sunlight and good health. Nikkō is often seen with Gakkō Bosatsu (Moonlight), as the two siblings serve Yakushi or the Medicine Buddha. Statues of Nikkō and Gakko closely resemble each other and are commonly found together, sometimes flanking temple doors. They are also known in mainland Asia, but as devas rather than bodhisattvas.
