Tamdrin in the Lha Chu Valley is named for a black rock marked with prayer flags that has a small self-arising image of Tamdrin (Hayagriva), the red horse-headed Buddhist protector deity, and wrathful emanation of Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara).
