There seems to be no reason to believe the crisis in Tibet will meet with a resolution anytime soon with fears the mounting reports of new self-immolations by protesters will continue. In response to this crisis the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has urged action by the international community. In an article today the Central Tibetan Administration has reported: "Tibetan Parliament Urges World Bodies to Press China to Resolve Crisis in Tibet." The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has said today that Tibetans are being pushed to burn themselves to death in order to protest China’s repression of freedom and the destruction of their identity in Tibet. Governments and human rights organizations have been strongly urged to apply pressure on China in order to find a lasting solution to the disturbing situation in Tibet. The parliament said in a statement: “The self-immolations by Tibetans is a highest form of non-violent protest against the Chinese government’s systematic repression of their freedom of religion and human rights, destruction of Tibetan language, culture and environment, and assimilation of Tibetan nationality through induced massive influx of Chinese population into Tibet." The Chinese government has been accused of being solely responsible for the continuing self-immolations by Tibetans in Tibet as it refuses to address the underlying causes of the problem, while instead intensifying measures to suppress the Tibetan people. Repression by China's government is seen as having inflicted deep pain and resentments in the hearts of Tibetans. The Tibetan Parliament has also stated: “If the Chinese government do not face the reality in Tibet, the situation there is bound to deteriorate for which it has to take the full responsibility."
