Who is Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi?
Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi, founder of Guang Huan Mi Zong Buddhism, came to this world for the sake of enlightening all sentient beings.
“Ziguang” means purple light; “Shang Shi” means teacher from above, a master, a guru. Together the name means “Purple Light Holy Master”. When facing the continuous strife and disasters in the world, Holy Ziguang Shang Shi has been working as a religious leader in the past four decades, healing people’s body, mind and soul in both Asia and America, through teaching this secret practice of Esoteric Buddhism to people openly, in order to help them attain physical, mental and spiritual health.
He received Abhisecana, the Energy Empowerment, from Master Shi Qi Ming, the Chief Monk of the Great Buddha Temple, and obtained all direct lineages from Master Linchen Kharthu, the emanation of Master Padmasambhava. Holy Ziguang Shang Shi was illuminated by the living Buddha Zhi Kong when he was seventeen and took the great vow for disseminating Buddhism and enlightening sentient beings.
Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi had been seeking the methodology of enlightening people in different places for over thirty years, and learned from many venerable monks, Taoists, mentors, and ascetics. He underwent hardships and dangers, cultivated in caves, went through harsh tribulations and obstructions, and attained Great Enlightenment.
After achieving Enlightenment, following divine guidance from Mahavairocana Buddha, Holy Master created Guang Huan Mi Zong, using the wisdom and divine power he attained to provide a simple and convenient practice that could benefit all people. Through teaching the dharma practice, Holy Master has helped hundreds of thousands of people in terms of healing their physical, mental and spiritual health.
In order to spread this system of freeing humanity from suffering as widely as possible, under the will of Buddha and God, the Holy Master came to the United States in the year 2000 followed by his disciples and since then has been holding conventions and classes around the country and the world to share the benefits of Guang Huan Mi Zong Health Dharma with the Western world.
Holy Ziguang Shang Shi set up the Western Shrine in Upstate New York as a base for training qualified preachers who can help to disseminate Buddhism and benefit people in the world, and founded Guang Huan Mi Zong Buddhism Research Institute for those who are interested in Buddhism and pursuing a path towards spiritual enlightenment.
Holy Master works tirelessly over sixteen hours per day, leads by great example through his words and actions, and has always been a compassionate, wise, great teacher, master, and leader for all his students and disciples.
The sutras produced during the Holy Master’s preaching such as Guang Huan Mi Zong Supreme Dharma, The Life and Death Sutra, and The Seeking Survival Sutra have brought light and hope to those who are in the darkness. His great merits are immeasurable.
