Hevajra Buddha
Hevajra Buddha; (He-jin-gang Fo): Wrathful form of Akshobhya Buddha. Hevajra is an important deity adored by Atiyoga Tantra as well as Sakya School.
This image depicts the sixteen-armed form of the Hevajra with eight faces.
He is joined as a couple （yuganaddha） with Nairātmyā.
Hevajra steps to the left with the front left leg bent and the front right one straight （ālīḍha）， trampling on the struggling bodies of the Māras on the lotus pedestal.
With his rear legs Hevajra dances in pratyāliḍha.
He holds in his eight right hands skull-cups （kapāla） containing small effigies of an elephant， a horse， an ass， an ox， a camel， a man， a griffin， and a cat， acting as guardians of the eight directions.
The skull-cups in his left hands contain small effigies of deities， namely Pṛthivī （earth）， Varuṇa （water），
Vāyu （air）， Tejas （fire）， Candra （moon）， Ādiya or Arka （sun）， Yarm or Antaka （death）， and Dhanada （wealth）.
The principle hands are turned inward and crossed in front of the chest （prajñāliṅganābhinaya） to embrace his consort Nairātmyā （Tib： bdag med ma）.
She holds in her principle hands a ritual chopper with a vajra handle （vajrakartrikā） and skull-cup and has her right leg wrapped around the hips of Hevajra.
The deities are naked except for the ṣaṇmudra ornaments.
