Panditarama Melbourne Meditation Centre
Panditarama Melbourne Meditation Centre (PMMC) was established in 2001 with the guidance of Sayadaw Ashin Pannathami (Panditarama Sydney Meditation Centre) to spread teachings of Lord Buddha and meditation – the methods of observation of body, sensation, mind and general objects like seeing, hearing, smelling and so on. The purpose of the centre is about the need to practise, propagate the Dhamma (The teaching of the Buddha), perpetuate the Theravada Buddhism and provide the facilities for training and education in regard to Buddhism within the community in Australia.
PMMC is the one of the Buddhist meditation institutions in Melbourne and open all year round. It is a non-profit organization and run by donations basis. We teach meditation and provide Buddhist cultural training courses. The teaching style is of the Late most venerable Mahasi Sayadaw gyi and Ovadacariya of Panditarama Shwe-Taun-Gon Thathana-Yeiktha Sayadaw gyi, in Myanmar. During the summer holiday, we provide training and teaching in basis mindfulness on mind and body and Buddhist basis education to students.
