Sogpo Palgyi Yeshe, Sog-po Ha-pal, one of the eight main disciples. Blacksmiths like Palgyi were called 'Sogdians', suggesting immigration from Sogdiana, a region to the far west where Padmasambahva himself likely came from. It had recently been overrun by Muslim armies. Befriended by Ngak Jnanakumara, he was turned to the practice of Vajrakilaya. He spent many years living near streams in highland forests.
