Yoga is physical excises which enable you to concentrate your physical actions by focusing on.

The result is increase flexibility and mental stability.

The Ultimum of Buddha teaching is elimination of self concept. Hence mental stability is the basic requirement.

However in Buddha teaching he described the sole path to enlightment is via 4 mental practices ( Sathara Sathipattana Sutta ).

In here the piliminary practice is Kayanupassana which involves physical feelings such as breathing (Anapana), 4 postures ( Iriyapatha) ect ect.

Now those who failed to understand his directions clearly, continuously engaged in physical activities only without developing it through mental activities.

So yogacara is good practice but it should be performed to calm down your mind and follow guide lines given by Buddha in Sathara Sathipattana .

If not yoga practice will be just a physical training method only.

Good luck
