fiery pit
火坑 (Jpn kakyo or kako )

    Also, pit of fire or fire pit. A metaphor for hell, which Buddhist scriptures say burns those who dwell there in its flames. Fiery pit is also a metaphor for earthly desires, which torment and consume people.
