Darkness Retreat

This is a return to the womb. We have gathered so much input from the outside world in our lives.
When we retreat in darkness, we fall back upon ourselves. Our usual self-image and references are not there anymore. This allows us to turn our regard inwards.
When we meditate, mostly we close our eyes. But here we look with the fysical eyes into total darkness.
This is very intens and alows our brain to function differently.
We observe the world mainly with our eyes.
Now the other senses are stimulated to go to a deeper level.
While eating and drinking the smell and taste are intensified.
Body sensations get more attention.
But there is a lot more going on.
We get a view on our unconsious paterns and fears, or sometimes creative ideas appear….
It is not possible to preview what will show up.
So it is certainly not an evidence to take this challenge.
But remind you that light can not exist without darkness.
The day can not exist without the night.
When light shines on your dark side, this can only bring more freedom to your life-energy.
The more you can enter the night in a relaxed way, the more you are alive to live the day.

From my own experience I can say that after a darkness-retrait it is more easy to connect the outer and inner world.
