Our Encyclopedia recently received a wonderful opportunity for a major renewal on its 14th birthday . After many years of growing our Encyclopedia had become bit slow and sometimes even decided not to answer when people knocked on the door.

Moon of Deliverance
解脱月菩薩 (Skt Vimuktichandra; Jpn Gedatsu-gatsu-bosatsu)
A bodhisattva who appears in the Flower Garland Sutra. The preaching of the Flower Garland Sutra is described as occurring in eight successive assemblies in seven different locations, beginning at the place of Shakyamuni Buddha's enlightenment and then shifting to various heavens. At the sixth assembly, held in the Heaven of Freely Enjoying Things Conjured by Others, the bodhisattva Diamond Storehouse mentions only the names of the ten stages of development, or the forty-first through the fiftieth of the fifty-two stages of bodhisattva practice, and then remains silent. The other bodhisattvas present wish to hear the meaning of the ten stages of development. Knowing their wish, Bodhisattva Moon of Deliverance earnestly and repeatedly begs Diamond Storehouse to preach on the ten stages of development, and the latter responds by elucidating them.
