laukika (Sanskrit, mundane). Any activity or practice associated with the profane world of unenlightened beings (pṛthagjana) and which is regarded as not conducive to liberation

laukika mf(ī)n. (fr. loka) worldly, terrestrial, belonging to or occurring in ordinary life, common, usual, customary, temporal, not sacred (as opp. to vaidika, ārṣa, śāstrīya [Page 909, Column 3]
• laukiheṣu ind. = loke 'in ordinary or popular speech', opp. to vaidikeṣu Nir.) ŚrS. Mn. MBh. &c
• (ifc.) belonging to the world of(ct. brahma-l○)
