Tibetan Buddhist Encyclopedia is now 14 years old
Our Encyclopedia recently received a wonderful opportunity for a major renewal on its 14th birthday . After many years of growing our Encyclopedia had become bit slow and sometimes even decided not to answer when people knocked on the door.
A very big thank you and blessings to Dmytro Rudiy (rudiy.nl) for his great work in upgrading the server, website and all of the infrastructure and helping make TBE fast and reliable again for everyone!

Guan Yu courtesy name Yunchang, was a Chinese military general serving under the warlord Liu Bei during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China.

Died : 220 AD, Nanzhang County, Xiangyang, China
Grandchildren : Guan Yi , Guan Yue , Guan Tong
Children : Guan Yinping , Guan Ping , Guan Xing
Parents : Guan Yi
Guan Yu's reputation grew and grew until it was believed that his spirit remained a guardian of those who lived after him . Within a few hundred years, Guan Yu was worshipped as the Chinese god of war and given extravagant titles such as Guandi (Guan the God) and Guan Gong (Lord Guan).
