Tibetan Buddhist Encyclopedia is now 14 years old

Our Encyclopedia recently received a wonderful opportunity for a major renewal on its 14th birthday . After many years of growing our Encyclopedia had become bit slow and sometimes even decided not to answer when people knocked on the door.

A very big thank you and blessings to Dmytro Rudiy (rudiy.nl) for his great work in upgrading the server, website and all of the infrastructure and helping make TBE fast and reliable again for everyone!

Khenpo Thupten Nyendrak
Khenpo Thupten Nyendrak

Khenpo Thupten Nyendrak aka Khenpo Thupnyen (Wyl. mkhan po thub bstan snyan grags) (1883-1959) — an important khenpo at Dzogchen Monastery. He was a student of Khenpo Shenga and a teacher of the Sixth Dzogchen Rinpoche to whom he gave full monastic ordination, Dodrupchen Rinpoche, and Alak Zenkar Rinpoche to whom he gave novice ordination. He spent some time in Bhutan before he was tragically poisoned and passing away in 1959. His writings include a commentary on the seventy points of the Abhisamayalankara.
