The Buddhist Inmate Sangha

From Tibetan Buddhist Encyclopedia
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Tibetan Buddhist Encyclopedia is now 14 years old

Our Encyclopedia recently received a wonderful opportunity for a major renewal on its 14th birthday . After many years of growing our Encyclopedia had become bit slow and sometimes even decided not to answer when people knocked on the door.

A very big thank you and blessings to Dmytro Rudiy (rudiy.nl) for his great work in upgrading the server, website and all of the infrastructure and helping make TBE fast and reliable again for everyone!

We kindly ask our readers to help us cover the cost of this important upgrade and also help with the ongoing costs of keeping the Encyclopedia alive and freely available.

The Buddhist Inmate Sangha

Pen Pal and Book Donation Projects

We are an independent interfaith Sangha dedicated to providing spiritual support for Buddhists behind bars. We currently donate Buddhist books, magazines, videos and audio cassettes to prisons and inmates around the country upon request. Your donations of new or used books and literature on Buddhism and Eastern Philosophy are what make this possible! Thank you to ALL who have in the past or will in the future mail study materials to an inmate; or if you prefer, you can mail them to ChanterKyo/Betty for distribution:

If you would like to know what more you can do for these Bodhisattva-Inmates, please join our discussion group! If you would like to be a Pen Pal for an Inmate, have any other corrections/additions to this webpage, please email the BIS founder (Chanterkyo) and the webmaster (CampRoss) at [email protected].
Only softcover books are generally allowed into the prisons. When sending used books, mark the package "Religious Goods/Books." New books can be sent direct from the temple/bookstore/publisher to ANY inmate. Study material printed from the web should have all URLs removed or they will be returned.
